Hello there friend.
I'm going to start this blog by giving you the story behind Captured & Reclaimed. About 4 years ago, my best friend and I were discussing our lives at great length. We both knew "something was coming", there was a shift in the atmosphere. I couldn't put my finger on it but I knew that change was coming. Prior to our discussion, I had been on a journey of kindness, self discovery and authenticity. I knew that I wanted to channel my creative energy and one day start a business. The idea came to me but it wasn't full, it wasn't complete. I explored photography, making art, and cultivating kindness. It slowly evolved. Let's go way back... to the little version of me growing up. I was loud, silly and full of spunk. I had a large imagination. I dreamed of one day being a photographer, an actress, a poet, a painter, a circus trapeze artist, a dancer, a singer, an archaeologist, a museum curator, an explorer, and so much more. I grew up. I was a babysitter, an off hours phone operator, a tour guide, a retail sales associate, a detasseler, a preschool teacher, an administrative assistant, and so much more. In my free time I created. I wrote songs, I painted, I made gifts, I cultivated a unique and lovely home environment. I was often told "Jaci, you are so creative". Early 2015, I started letting myself think these words "I am an artist". Changing the way I let myself think about me... well, it wasn't easy... but claiming that creativity was something so powerful. I decided to own it! To just BE, who I've been created to be! One thing led to another... and I took a chance. I signed up for a huge local market, just to see how things would go. From there, a whirlwind? a snowball? I don't know what it would be called but Captured & Reclaimed went from being a clever and exciting idea, to a full blown legitimate business. I just dove in. Head first. So here I am friends, about 7 months in. Getting my website up and running. Making art, finding & selling unique vintage finds, cultivating creativity in those I meet and just trying to be genuine about me. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll visit often. ~Jaci~
